cold weather casual…

Off work in observance of the MLK holiday, I made a to-do list and headed out. Wanting to be warm and casual, I put on a taupe sweater and my favorite scarf. I am almost finished with my to-do list, crossing off the last few items.

back to blogging…

The new year snuck up on me and before I knew it, it was mid-January. I am not the sort of person who makes New Year’s resolutions, but I decided to add a new spin to my blog. I love fashion. I love watching it, reading about it, wearing it and talking about it. So why have I not included it on my blog? Today’s outfit. I just wanted to put something together I hadn’t worn as an outfit before….

my favorite Christmas tradition

It’s just not Christmas to me until I have seen A Charlie Brown Christmas. Even though it was made in the mid 1960s, its message is universal. It makes me happy every time I watch it. My favorite part is Linus’ speech to Charlie Brown about the true meaning of Christmas.     “‘And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon…

I love instagram. For those not familiar with instagram, it’s a photoblog where people just post photos and can add captions or brief comments. Once the photo in imported into instagram, the photo can be edited to add special effects called filters. That would not seem so unusual until I mention that this friend works in Washington DC and visited my class via skype. It’s…

This year I decided to participate so I will post daily on facebook and I will post my entire month’s worth of entries here, as well. Going to be a follower and spend November appreciating what I have. Day 1 I am thankful to be safe from Sandy…

most difficult question part III

The last segment of my favorite musical group list covers my current list. While I still listen to the groups on the previous two lists, the final list is more contemporary. This time there are only three entries on my list and surprisingly this was the easiest of the three lists to make. I think it was easier because nostalgia didn’t get in the way. The first list from my youth was harder to put into order and I found…

most difficult question part II

In college, I listened to a wide variety of music. I watched the new wave 80s fade into the 90s alternative rock/grunge era. While I listened to lot of new music and artists, only a few of them stuck. CDs became the preferred choice for music delivery and soon mix tapes were a thing of the past. The main criteria I used for my list during this time period was longevity. Not how long the band stayed relevant, but how…
