Welcome 2014….
Making New Year’s resolutions is nothing new. People decide to turn over a new leaf and make the new year better than the last. This is why I can’t get a treadmill in the gym in January or why I am inundated with weight loss commercials on TV for the next two weeks. While I have never been one to make resolutions, I decided to make one goal for the new year.
My goal for 2014 is to read more. I have set a goal of at least 24 books in 2014. That’s at least two books per month. Last week, I placed a large order on Amazon so that I would have no excuses! The books arrived on Monday and I immediately started my first book “George Washington’s Secret Six” and my second book “looking for alaska” by Indiana resident John Green. I can read a fiction and a nonfiction book at the same time, but not two fiction books. Yes, I know I am odd.

I’ll be interested to hear your opinion on Looking for Alaska.
I am half way through the book and I love it. You’re right, Green is really good with character development.
I’ve been thinking of doing the same. If you have some good suggestions, please share. Happy New Year. Love you!
Just finished John Green’s “looking for alaska” and I loved it. It’s so well written that I didn’t see the anything coming…and I’ll leave it at that. Green develops his characters so well, they felt like real people. I have his other three books too, but I may start a book called “fangirl”. John Green reviewed her book “Eleanor & Park” and he was very complimentary, said he was a fan of her writing. If he likes, it must be good. I haven’t decided yet. But since we have another day off, I know I will start something.
