150 down….850 to go…

After spending almost a week not doing much on my project, I did make a little progress this week. For full disclosure, I have taken almost 1800 photos at this point in my summer, but I am I trying to take 1000 photos that say something, that make a viewer take more than a glance. But as the headline says, I have 150 I consider worthy, only 850 to go.

                     Killing two birds with one stone, I had lunch in downtown New Albany and worked on my summer project. I knew that New Albany had a stage on the river but had not been down there. I headed there on a hot, humid overcast day. After editing, I kept about 15 photos from the day and these are my three favorites.

Everyone likes new toys, I am no exception. For quite some time, I have wanted a small aperture (f2.8) lens. I love shooting with them because the large opening gives the photos very shallow depth of field. Shallow depth of field makes the background blurry which helps when you know you’re going to have a background which you can’t control such as a crowd at a sporting event.
