I am a firm believer in the school of thought that the book is always better than the movie. It is with this in mind that I have been awaiting The Great Gatsby with great trepidation. Gatsby is my favorite book period. To me it’s more than a great story about the disappointment one feels after getting exactly what he has wished for only to find out it’s tarnished and broken. Fitzgerald is a master wordsmith. His writing is beautiful and melodic; his word choice impeccable. While I am eager to see the movie, will I ultimately be unsatisfied in the end?

I hope not.
